Function
Skin conditioning; Antioxidant; Fragrance. Extract obtained from the peel of grapefruit, Citrus paradisi (syn. Citrus grandis). Contains flavonoids (naringin, naringenin), limonene, and furanocoumarins. Provides antioxidant protection and skin conditioning. Reported among the highest-use citrus peel-derived ingredients with 61 total reported uses, more than half in skin care preparations. CIR Expert Panel assessed 47 citrus peel-derived ingredients; concluded they are safe for use in both rinse-off and leave-on cosmetic products when formulated to be non-sensitizing and non-irritating, with leave-on products not exceeding 0.0015% (15 ppm) 5-MOP.
