Verdict

Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide is a well-characterised natural galactomannan derived from Indian Senna seeds with no EU Cosmetics Regulation restrictions, excellent safety profile across regulatory frameworks, and negligible systemic risk due to high molecular weight precluding skin penetration.

US Note

Not restricted by FDA; no OTC drug classification. CIR Expert Panel (2015) concluded galactomannans including Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide are safe as used in cosmetics at concentrations up to approximately 2.5%. Reported to FDA VCRP in rinse-off and leave-on formulations.
