Alteromonas Ferment Extract is a clinically supported anti-pollution active that reduces PM2.5 adherence to the skin surface through exopolysaccharide film formation while supporting skin barrier repair. Clinical data demonstrated reduced PM2.5 adhesion and improved barrier function versus placebo. This physical protection mechanism prevents pollutants from adhering rather than neutralizing their effects after contact. Particularly valuable in daily anti-pollution primers, day creams, and barrier-repair formulations at 0.5–2% in leave-on formulations.
