Verdict
Clastogenic in vitro (chromosome aberrations in V79 cells ± S9) but negative in vivo micronucleus. Severely irritating to rabbit eye when undiluted (ocular corrosion). Acute oral LD50 very low: 390 mg/kg bw in mice. Not for use outside hair dye applications.
